Wilderness or builderness

I’m fascinated by the multifarious ways that humans find to escape their structured worlds. Some seek primeval wilderness and others seek solace in the glory of the man made. There is a tension between nature and structure and both encroach on each other, craving dominance. In this series I explore this wilderness/‘builderness’ balance of form, mark and colour.

Fell race prints

I’ve been a competitive fell runner for many years but recent events have meant much less time on the hills. So I’ve been busy creating memories of races and some insights into the strange but wonderful world of running over mountains in all weathers. So until we can all race again, why not decorate your walls with some memories of past glories? I hope you enjoy these as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them. If any print is out of stock please enter your email address to be notified when I have more in stock – I will print on demand.

Giclee fine art prints

I’m a lover of nature and quite often the more neglected species. I also collect drift wood that seems to speak or have a human quality to it. These are stippled fine liner giclee prints, which involve using different sizes of fine liner to build up tone and texture. It’s a time consuming process but the results are well worth the effort.

Emulsion transfer prints

These prints are from my own photographs which have been digitally manipulated and then transferred onto canvas using the wonderful technique of emulsion transfer. I really like this technique as it gives a unique distressed appearance to each print, so every one is unique.
