Crit: 24th November

This peer review came at a good point as I now had a triptych of photographs and some ideas as to how to present them. The humour in the work clearly resonated with my peers and I like how the reviewers enjoyed it being secretive humour. This is interesting as the humour and message were designed at separate entities but when the viewer links them together I get a sense that something new is being created, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

The fact that the work is not instantly obvious confirms my intention but the comment about the message being out in the open is not something I’ve previously considered. The fact that the phrases are being uttered in wide open spaces does symbolise a release of something. Frustration, emotion or a sense of calm? Or are the statements being blown away in the wind. These are all alternative narratives that will build on the outcome.
