I was delighted to be offered a commission to draw the Adams Building for a retiring college governor. I had never worked on architectural drawings before so it was a perspective challenge but I was very pleased with the result which I created using fine liner (0.1 – 1mm). The perspective was challenging, mostly because of the distortion of source image that I used as a basis for the drawing. Hence I purchased a light box from Amazon for about £20 which was invaluable for checking that the major lines were correct.
Beyond that the consistency of the dot density across the drawing was something I checked often. Working on the darkest then the lightest areas first certainly helped as this then gave the edges of the tones I had to work with. Thankfully the client was very pleased with the result!
